The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has selected Champagne Taittinger Brut Réserve as the official Champagne of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Braziil. The historic cuvee of the Taittinger House, the Brut Réserve is a collector’s item and produced as a limited edition. To mark the occasion, Taittinger has created the first Champagne label in 3D (appreciable without special glasses), a technical feat that makes the bubbles fizz straight out of the label! Taittinger Brut Réserve 2014 FIFA World Cup™ is available in Ireland through O’Brien Shops nationwide and selected independents with an RRP of €60 per 75cl. bottle
Taittinger Brut Réserve is composed of Chardonnay (40%), Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier (60%) from over 60 different crus and various harvests matured to perfection. The high proportion of Chardonnay, unique among fine non-vintage Champagnes, together with a minimum aging of three years in the cellar where it reaches full aromatic maturity results in a delicately balanced Champagne, known for its consistent quality that is acclaimed worldwide.
To the eye, this Champagne Taittinger Brut Réserve is a brilliant golden yellow in colour. The bubbles are fine while the foam is discreet, yet lingering. On the nose, it delivers aromas of fruit and brioche with fragrances of peach, white flowers and vanilla. On the palate, it is lively, crisp and harmonious. This is a delicate wine with flavours of fresh fruit and honey.
Jim Bradley, CEO of Febvre & Company Limited, Irish distributors of Champagne Taittinger, said: “We are very pleased that Champagne Taittinger Brut Réserve 2014 FIFA World Cup™ will be available to Irish Soccer lovers to enable them to acknowledge the feats of their chosen team in the appropriate manner and, by doing so, acquire a collector’s item with the bottle”. “It is fitting that a Champagne House of world renown would be involved in such a world event”, he added.
