Waterford’s Heritage Pass
Two Waterford destinations, Mount Congreve Gardens and the Waterford Treasures museum collection, have come together to offer visitors a new way to experience Ireland’s oldest city. With the launch of the Waterford Weekend Pass, visitors are invited to step into a world of heritage and natural beauty with one ticket designed to blend nature, history, and culture over two leisurely days.
The pass includes general admission to seven of the South East’s most iconic attractions, making it the perfect option for those looking to soak up the best of both indoor and outdoor experiences. At Mount Congreve Gardens, visitors can escape into a lush, 70-acre estate known internationally for its rare plant collections and breathtaking design. The walled gardens offer a painterly mix of seasonal colour, while the woodlands offer moments of reflection and discovery around every bend. After a stroll, visitors can enjoy local fare and coffee at The Stables Café, or explore the indoor exhibition spaces that share the story of the Congreve family and the garden’s legacy.
In the heart of Waterford city, the Waterford Weekend Pass opens the door to the award-winning Waterford Treasures museums, located in the historic Viking Triangle. Each museum offers a unique perspective on Ireland’s past. The Medieval Museum presents artefacts that have survived centuries, including rare 13th-century vestments, while the Bishop’s Palace provides an insight into 18th-century elegance and the Georgian age. Just a short walk away, the Irish Museum of Time celebrates horological craftsmanship with exquisite timepieces from around the world, and the Irish Silver Museum showcases the art and symbolism of Irish silverwork. Entry to Christ Church Cathedral is also included.
For those who want to be guided through the city’s layered history, the pass includes the popular Epic Walking Tour. Led by local guides who bring the past to life with humour, knowledge, and theatrical flair, this tour condenses a thousand years of Waterford’s story into a lively and engaging journey through its streets and landmarks.
Designed with flexibility in mind, the Waterford Weekend Pass can be used across any two days within a three-month period from first use. The adult pass costs just €23.60 when purchased online, offering a 20% saving on individual tickets, and children under 16 go free when accompanied by a paying adult. Groups of ten or more also enjoy an additional discount.
