VIP Trips for ‘Winter’ Winners

Fáilte Ireland has announced the launch of a partnership with Iarnród Éireann to host six charted train carriages to celebrate the launch of "Winter in Dublin" this year. The Winter in Dublin Express will run across selected services until Friday 10th December.

On six selected services, one unique carriage will be transformed into a "Winter Wonderland", and passengers will be treated to a festive VIP trip to Dublin. Passengers will enjoy live entertainment on board, festive treats from local suppliers and experience the wonder of Christmas with a specially decorated carriage inspired by the magic of Dublin in winter. Passengers on board the six special services have been selected as prize winners from various Winter in Dublin promotions.

To celebrate the launch of the Winter in Dublin Express, upon arrival in Heuston Station, passengers were surprised with an impromptu performance of some of the nation’s favourite Christmas songs by the cast of the Olympia Panto "Olly, Polly and the Beanstalk", opening on 21st December in the Olympia Theatre, starring James Patrice, Maclean Burke, Ryan Andrews and Erin McGregor.

Winter in Dublin, led by Fáilte Ireland in association with the Dublin tourism industry, encourages the nation to visit Dublin this winter and make memories with family and friends by experiencing the magic and excitement of all there is to see and do. With a programme of events and immersive experiences, Winter in Dublin highlights great things to do and places to go in the city, with some extra special once-off events popping up from November until January.

Speaking at the launch, Emma Woods, Head of Marketing Communications at Fáilte Ireland said:
