Viking Celebrates Upgrade

The Viking Hotel Waterford launched its newly refurbished Superior Guest Rooms with a reception for customers, staff and local personalities, including Mary Butler TD, Government Chief Whip and Minister of State at the Department of Health; and Kevin Doolan, President of Waterford Chamber.

The event took place in the Wooden Pestle Restaurant.

Special guest for the evening was architect Hugh Wallace, who led the redesign. Guests had the chance to speak with Hugh and Damien Meehan from Douglas Wallace Architects, gaining insight into the design process and hearing directly about the inspiration behind the new look.

The Superior Rooms now offer a mix of style and function with locally inspired artwork; a calm, neutral palette; thoughtful lighting and layout; and spacious, bright bathrooms with high-quality finishes.

General Manager Karen Dollery said: “We are so proud of the rooms and how they’ve been received. It was great to welcome everyone to the hotel on the evening and take a moment to celebrate.”
