Tradition at The Oval
The Oval Bar, one of Dublin’s most historic pubs, has launched a menu that celebrates the best of Irish produce and tells the story of authentic Irish pub food. Rooted in tradition yet designed for today’s guest, the menu is a true reflection of The Oval’s heritage as a landmark Dublin pub since 1822.
The menu shines a spotlight on Ireland’s food story, and includes The Oval’s Famous Irish Lamb Stew with Guinness soda bread, Irish Seafood Chowder and a rich Braised Irish Hereford Featherblade of Beef served with mash and root vegetables.
There’s also Daly’s Smoked BBQ Salmon Rillette, a comforting Panko Supreme of Chicken Stuffed with Iona Farm Garlic and Gubbeen Chorizo and a Vegan Guinness & Vegetable Stew ensuring plant-based guests can enjoy the same depth of flavour.
The Oval is committed to preserving the charm and warmth of a classic Irish pub. For over two centuries it has been a place where neighbours meet, visitors find a welcome and stories are told over good food and a pint. Rebuilt after the 1916 Rising, its history runs through the building and today the aim is to offer that same sense of belonging - the feeling of a true local, where heritage and hospitality live side by side.
‘The Oval has always been about tradition, welcome and a good plate of food,’ said Bill Chawke.
