Talking Business to Germans
Eleven German travel agents, all specialists in business travel and members of a travel agency network called Lufthansa City Center, have been visiting Ireland as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.
The travel agents have been following a bespoke itinerary showcasing an offering for the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and events) sector. They visited Howth Castle and a gin experience at Pearse Lyons Distillery. In Wicklow, they visited the Powerscourt Hotel, explored the Powerscourt Estate and enjoyed a sheepdog and falconry demonstration. They also did some Irish whiskey tasting at Powerscourt Distillery and visited Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort.
In Kilkenny, the group enjoyed a walking tour of the city, with a visit to Kilkenny Castle, Kilkenny Design Centre and the Medieval Mile Museum. They visited Lyrath Estate Hotel, as well as Mount Juliet Estate, where they experienced axe throwing and archery.
David Boyce, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Business Events and Luxury, said:
“Our aim is to showcase Ireland as a leading destination for Business Events and to inspire these travel professionals to recommend Ireland for future meetings and incentive travel, in 2025 and beyond.”
