Sons Continue Chipper Legacy

A Cork family well-known for serving up slices of happiness across the city is firing up a new chapter. Pizza and chipper entrepreneur Tom Harrington is hanging up his apron and handing the reins to his twin sons,  who have opened a new fast-food business called Tomtoms.

Tom has been a fixture in Cork’s fast food scene: first opening Burger Hut in Hollyhill in 1985, and later operating Apache Pizza franchises in Hollyhill, Bishopstown and Douglas. Now, his sons Scott and Mark are ready to take a slice of the action under their own independent brand, named in tribute to their father.

As part of the rebrand, the former Apache Pizza and Burger Hut locations will be relaunched under the "Tomtoms" brand.

Said Tom Harrington: "After 40 years in the business, it feels like the right time to retire and let the lads put their own stamp on things."
