‘Shards and Chardonnay’

In what was once the “Wine Capital of Ireland”, a creative “Pottery Painting, Shards and Chardonnay” event will be hosted at Waterford Treasures Medieval Museum for Valentine’s Day.

Waterford’s long history in the wine trade will be celebrated with many pieces from the museum’s collection of medieval pottery being showcased, including a selection of wine jugs from the Middle Ages.

Participants in the workshop (6pm, February 15th) will be guided through the pottery painting experience by Museum Curators Donnchadh O Ceallacháin and Clíona Purcell. Each guest will enjoy a chance to create their own piece, and the finished wine jugs will be fired in a kiln.
