Rising Chefs Talk ‘Motivation’
As part of its work to support tourism businesses to attract and retain talent, Fáilte Ireland, in partnership with Chef Network, is offering an online insights session featuring some of Ireland’s “rising star” chefs.
Aoife Comerford (Glover’s Alley), Becca Sweeney (Hooked, Sligo), Charlie Ward (The Morrison Room) and Ian Harford (Aniar) will discuss what motivates them and what they need from employers to thrive in busy workplaces.
This will be followed by a panel of tourism industry leaders discussing how employers can ensure they retain their best kitchen talent and attract the next generation of chefs.
The session will focus on what makes a strong kitchen culture, highlighting how employers can retain talent across the wider organisation from the perspective of the Gen Z employee. Themes include:
- Kitchens: Community & Culture
- Support: Ambition & Upskilling
- Creativity: Motivation & Freedom
- Social Media: Pride & Reputation
- Wellbeing: Rewards & Flexibility
The webinar will signpost to useful supports for chef recruitment and retention.
The event takes place on Tuesday, 29th April, 10 – 11am, registration open here.
Chefs remain one of the most in-demand roles in the tourism sector. The virtual event is open to all and will be of particular interest to those who are involved in the recruitment and retention of chefs, particularly young talent.
