PREM Backs ‘Finest Hour’
PREM Group is backing a national fundraising drive for hospices in April. “Your Finest Hour for Hospice” campaign is being backed by the hospitality group following the “phenomenal care” received by an employee’s father.
Sean Graham, chief information officer with PREM, is advocating the campaign following the experience of his father Brendan Graham (87) who died under the care of staff at St Francis Hospice in Blanchardstown.
The fundraising drive asks employees to donate an hour of their salary in return for their employer giving them an hour of downtime during the month of April.
“Unless people witness it, they don’t know how unbelievable Hospice is,” Sean said. “It is a phenomenal organisation, none of the care is means tested, there’s no cost, they simply take the pressure off grieving families.”
Sean’s father, a former Guinness worker from Ashtown in Dublin, entered the care of St Francis Hospice in 2021 following a cancer diagnosis and died there in September of that year.
“The three words I constantly use in relation to Hospice are love, dignity and respect. Nothing was too much and no detail was overlooked.”
The Your Finest Hour for Hospice drive is organised by Together for Hospice, a group representing 24 hospices across the country.
Sean concluded: “I would encourage as many companies and individuals as possible to jump on board. We take so much for granted in life, the Hospice teams around Ireland are a gift in people’s final hours.”
Companies and employees can register to support Your Finest Hour for Hospice at finesthour.ie. Registered firms will be provided with a digital information pack, and every cent raised in local firms as part of the campaign will go to a local hospice.
