Pig’s Lane Pinned
Pig’s Lane in Killarney, Co Kerry, has been awarded a "One PIN" status by The Pinnacle Guide.
Only 61 bars from across the globe were included in the latest cohort of venues to be added to the guide on 24th September, with venues in Ireland making their first appearance.
Using a global 1, 2 & 3 PIN recognition system for the world’s best cocktail bars, the Pinnacle Guide rates and ranks the venues using a strict set of criteria. Bars awarded "1 PIN" receive an "excellent rating", "2 PINS" means "outstanding", and the maximum "3 PINS" is presented to venues deemed "exceptional" by contest judges.
The presentation of the award comes after Pig’s Lane was named the Best Designed Bar of the Year in August.
The popular venue, which is the youngest member of local, family-run group O’Donoghue Ring Collection, also took bronze in the Cocktail Bar of the Year category and was proclaimed "Innovative Bar of the Year" at last year’s awards.
Since opening in October 2023 as Killarney’s first subterranean cocktail bar, Pig’s Lane quickly established itself as a drinking venue of distinction. Under the leadership of O’Donoghue Ring Collection Managing Director Gemma Ring and world champion mixologist Ariel Sanecki, creative cocktails are complemented by a selection of sustainable, natural, regenerative and vegan wines and locally sourced snacks and small plates.
A hidden whiskey parlour plays host to private tastings and events, whilst live music performances by both well-established and emerging artists and DJs means no two visits feel the same.
