Parade Returns to Dun Laoghaire
The Dún Laoghaire St Patrick's Day Parade is set to make a return this year, with “St Patrick” arriving on the LE Samuel Beckett Navy Ship to announce the news. Joined by Chief Executive Frank Curran and Councillor Jim O'Leary, Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, as well as Elected Members, “St Patrick” heralded the return of this community event.
The parade, scheduled for 17 March at 11am, promises to be a spectacular celebration of Irish culture and community spirit. Starting at Islington Avenue (Newtownsmith) and ending at Marine Road, the parade will feature a variety of groups including Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Eireann, Irish Coast Guard, Ukelele Hooley, Twilight Twirlers, RNLI, Dún Laoghaire Tidy Towns, Goat Boat Tours, local sports clubs, dancers and much more.
The parade is organised by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and the Dún Laoghaire Business Association.
