One Million EPIC Visitors
EPIC, The Irish Emigration Museum, has welcomed its one millionth visitor.
Aileesh Carew, Director of Sales and Marketing, said:
"Since starting to work at EPIC in 2017, I have seen the Docklands grow in popularity and become filled with an exciting array of attractions for visitors to enjoy. In that time we have also seen some new hotels such as The Samuel and The Mayson open, adding to the vibrancy of the area. There have also been new attractions added such as Windmill Lane and The Custom House.
"Insights show that visitors often want to do more than one activity when visiting a destination, so clustering with our partners, The Irish Family History Centre and The Jeanie Johnston, was a natural development to our offering. We upgraded our ticketing system so visitors can seamlessly buy tickets and plan their day.
"Today is a very proud day as since 2016, the three businesses have welcomed a million visitors, giving them a unique insight into Ireland’s history and culture. We are delighted to partner with the Dockland’s hotels to promote the Docklands destination. This year DCC have shown their belief in the destination for visitors by adding to the winter lights with an installation in Georges Dock."
Liz Halpin, Head of Dublin, Fáilte Ireland, said:
"The array of world-class visitor attractions in the Dublin Docklands area gives both domestic and international visitors an opportunity to truly immerse themselves in the history and heritage of Ireland. Today’s announcement of one million visitors for EPIC, Jeanie Johnston and The Irish Family History Centre is a real testament to the global appeal of this cluster of attractions, which will continue to entice visitors to come to Dublin, explore the Docklands area and stay longer for many years to come."
