New Look at The Quays
A flock of toucans has arrived in Galway’s Latin Quarter at The Quays Bar Galway, whose management has unveiled a vibrant new mural on its exterior ahead of Galway Week.
With seven days of top musical acts planned from Monday 29th July to Sunday 4th August, there is no better spot to soak up race week atmosphere.
Owner Louis Fitzgerald has partnered with talented husband-and-wife team Ruairi and Caroline from FeatureWalls to reimagine the building's exterior with a custom mural. With over 25 years of experience, Ruairi and Caroline created some of Ireland’s most spectacular murals. Their latest work brings even more colour and character to Quay Street, with scenes of Galway harbour, a traditional Irish fingerpost sign, a majestic swan and the beloved Guinness Toucan flying with pints of the black stuff perched on its beak, all set against a vivid sky blue painted background.
The Quays Bar and Music Hall has long been a magnet for visitors, photographers, music enthusiasts and food lovers. The famous Galway Girl Statue, positioned at the entrance, has been a favourite photo op for locals and tourists alike, while their Music Hall is a mecca for live music with its iconic pipe organ stage on stilts.
