Media Tour ‘Wednesday’ Locations

Nine international journalists, representing a range of print and online publications including major outlets like Vanity Fair, Le Figaro, Metro and The Sun, visited Ireland as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.

The journalists, from Britain, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Scandinavia, with a combined reach of around 15 million, were here to find out more about Ireland’s connection with the highly anticipated season two of Wednesday, which premiered on Netflix recently to audiences across the world.

During their time here, the group explored the atmospheric filming locations of the smash-hit Netflix series. The itinerary brought them to some of the show’s most recognisable backdrops, including Powerscourt Estate in County Wicklow (the waterfall, gardens and graveyard all feature in the new series) and Charleville Castle in County Offaly. They also visited the Swift Cultural Centre in Trim to learn about the upcoming Púca Festival and why Ireland is the true "Home of Halloween", as well as Trinity College in Dublin.
