Marian Heads IASI

Marian Murnane, Accommodation Manager at the Armada Hotel, Spanish Point, Co. Clare, has been elected as President of the Irish Accommodation Services Institute.

She received her chain of office from outgoing President Ines Guerra at a Gala Dinner which followed the IASI Conference in the Carlton Hotel, Dublin Airport.

At an awards ceremony held during the event, the five star Dromoland Castle Hotel, Co. Clare, four star Armada Hotel and three star Hendricks Hotel, Smithfield, Dublin were presented with Supreme Awards for Accommodation Management. They were among more than 160 hotels which competed for awards, all of which were inspected by a team of assessors.

Marian Murnane described her predecessor Ines as "a force of nature" who had significantly added to the scope and influence of IASI during her terms of office. Ines received a standing ovation from her colleagues, guests and members of her family who had travelled from Spain for the occasion.

Merit, Silver and Gold Awards were presented to hotels which had met challenging quality criteria in the competition.
