Magnificent Magnolias at Mount Congreve

Mount Congreve Gardens in County Waterford has one of the largest private collections of plants globally, including a 200-magnolia tree canopy walkway which is now bursting into bloom for its annual showcase.

Mount Congreve Gardens is one of the best places in the world for visitors to enjoy magnolias, featuring three spectacular plantings in the garden. The varieties of Magnolia campbellii, Magnolia veitchii and Magnolia sprengeri var. diva, among others, are all now mature and impressive trees creating a canopy walkway of two kilometres and delivering a display of colour and fragrance each spring.

The gardens, originally curated under the vision of Ambrose Congreve and his co-creator Herman Dool, have long been recognised as the finest location to witness magnolias in full bloom.
