‘Lifetime’ Award for Mark
Mark Nolan, managing director of Dromoland Castle Hotel in County Clare, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the world’s largest independent hotel brand, Preferred Hotels & Resorts.
Dromoland was also honoured with an Award of Excellence for Sustainability.
Mark was presented with the honour at the Preferred Global Conference in Lisbon. The business represents 600 hotels, resorts and residences across 80 countries.
With over 40 years’ experience in hotel management, Mark has been a leader of Dromoland since he was appointed general manager in 1988, just eight years after completing a diploma in Hotel Management at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology.
In 1996 he was appointed managing director and, under his stewardship, the resort has won a multitude of accolades.
Speaking of their reasons for selecting Mark Nolan for the Lifetime Achievement Award, the CEO of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Lindsey Ueberroth, commented:
