Kinara Bartenders Success
Kinara Group reports that three of its bartenders – Alex Alexandru Ani?a, Simon O’Connor and Kate Kryvytska – have earned accolades at mixology competitions across Ireland.
Kajjal’s Alex Alexandru Ani?a claimed first prize at the “Feel Creative Cocktail Competition” by Three Cents. This competition, which seeks to celebrate artistry and imagination, saw Alex secure his win with a presentation, mystery ingredient round, and a creative take on the iconic Paloma, inspired by Kajjal’s Gulab Jamon dessert. His victory earns him a trip to the Athens Bar Show this November.
Both Alex from Kajjal and Simon O’Connor from Kinara Clontarf were shortlisted this month in the Top 10 of The Irish Restaurant Awards’ Best Cocktail Experience competition. This year’s theme, “Sips and Sounds – Craft a Cocktail Inspired by Your Favourite Song,” challenged mixologists to capture the essence of a song in a cocktail. Alex stood out from over 100 entrants with his adaptation of “People’s” by LTJ Experience, while Simon impressed the judges with his take on Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box”.
Kate Kryvytska from Kinara Clontarf also made an impact, earning a top 20 spot in the Hennessy “My Way” cocktail competition. This contest, focused on innovation, sustainability and storytelling, saw Kate’s creation, “The Last Stir”, gain regional recognition. Since then, Kate has hosted the judges in Kinara and impressed them enough to make the Top 10 and will compete in the final in Cork on the 17th and 18th of June.
