Fáilte Ireland, the National Tourism Development Authority, officially opened its new Tourist Information Centre on St. Patrick’s Street, Cork. The opening was conducted by the
Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr Simon Coveney T.D. alongside Fáilte Ireland’s CEO, Paul Kelly.
Speaking at the official opening, the Tánaiste said:
“I am delighted to officially open Fáilte Ireland’s new Cork Tourist Information Centre. It is a vote of confidence in the local tourism industry and the importance of tourism to the economy of the region and the city cannot be underestimated. In 2017, Cork welcomed 2.7 million visitors providing an economic boost of €833 million to the region. The opening of the new Tourist Information Centre by Fáilte Ireland allows visitors to interact with local tourism experts and to discover even more of what our city and county has to offer.”
