Lebanese Wine Tasting

A tasting of Lebanese Wines will be held in Dublin on Wed 26th October, 2016.

leb

The tasting will include twelve wines from six of Lebanon’s leading producers including  Obeideh and old vine Cinsault
Explaining the aim of the initiative, Michael said: “We want to raise the profile of Lebanese wine in key markets in a more mobile and cost-effective way.”Presented by Michael Karam, author of “Wines of Lebanon” the  event is part of a global initiative that has been dubbed the “Wine Traveller” programme. It  has seen Michael,  show Lebanese wines at tastings and dinners in the Far East, the US and Europe over the past two years.
The event will be open to trade in the afternoon and consumers in the evening and will feature two wines, a white and a red, from the six participating producers:  Château Kefraya, Château Ksara, Château St Thomas, Domaine des Tourelles, Domaine Wardy, and Ixsir.

The wines will reflect Lebanon’s diversity with some of the most exciting blends on the market, including the ancient and indigenous Obeideh and Lebanon’s first “old vine” Cinsault.

With around 50% of Lebanon’s 9-million bottle production currently exported, Michael’s brief is to bring the country’s wines to a wider audience. “These wines are really special, with a great back story and made with exciting varieties, so I’m hoping that we can make a real impact, especially in the independents and the on-trade,” he said.

The Lebanese wine event will take place in On the Grapevine, 26 Castle Street, Dalkey

Tickets for the tasting are now on sale for €20.00 and are available to buy at
