Pure Meetings & Events is one of the leading events for business tourism and incentive buyers based in France, who will be booking incentive travel programmes around the world in 2018 and beyond. The B2B workshop – involving pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings – provided an excellent platform for the participating Irish companies to meet, and do business with, the 700+ influential French incentive buyers in attendance.
“We were delighted to participate in this year’s Pure Meetings & Events promotion in Paris,” said Monica MacLaverty, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Southern Europe. “This type of event provides us with a really good opportunity to highlight the island of Ireland Ireland to influential French business tourism buyers and to spread the word about our world-class meetings, conference and incentive facilities. France is one of the top four markets for tourism to the island of Ireland and 2017 was the fifth record-breaking year in a row for French visitors to Ireland.”
Business tourism is the most lucrative form of tourism, with visitors travelling here for business purposes spending about 2.5 times more than the average visitor. ‘Meet in Ireland’ is the official MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and events) brand for the island of Ireland. It comprises three tourism authorities – Fáilte Ireland, Tourism Ireland and Tourism NI – who work in partnership to promote the island of Ireland as a leading conference and meeting destination.
