Fáilte Ireland, in conjunction with partner Tourism Ireland,welcomed a group of Spanish media who landed at Cork Airport with Iberia Express airlines from 


Madrid to explore Kerry and Cork as part of a promotion of the region as a gateway to the Wild Atlantic Way. 
 Over the next five days these journalists (with a combined audience of over 72 million) will have the opportunity to see first-hand what is on offer nearby for the traveller who arrives at Cork Airport. US Meeting Planners Visit

 Ireland was promotedusplan0518 as a destination for conferences and incentives to a group of visiting US Meeting Planners (which included representatives from New York, Florida, Washington DC, Atlanta, Maryland, Minnesota, Virginia and California). The trip was hosted by Fáilte Ireland’s 'Meet in Ireland' team, in partnership with Tourism Ireland and the Wallace Travel Group, Kerry Convention Bureau and The Shannon Region Conference & Sports Bureau.  
  The group is pictured in Christ Church Cathedral with Ciara Gallagher, Mary Collins and Kate O’Riordan, Fáilte Ireland and Paul McDonagh, Tourism Ireland.
Learning why Ireland is a desirable destination for conferences and incentives, the group enjoyed bespoke familiarisation trips of Kerry, Limerick, Clare and Dublin, which highlighted a number of key venues, hotels and business tourism suppliers.

Early Tee Off for International Golf Media Ahead of Dubai Duty Free Irish Open

 The trip, organised by Fáilte Ireland, will allow the journalists to enjoy a showcase of some of the best courses in the North West along the Wild Atlantic Way, including Rosapenna Sandy Hills golf course and Portsalon Golf Club, Old Links Ballyliffin before teeing off at Glashedy Links Ballyliffin, venue for this year’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Open.

Discovering Ancient Stories

Fáilte Ireland will bring to life the history and stories behind some of the oldest towns in Ireland’s Ancient East 


through a series of newly updated Historic Town trail signs around the region.
Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Brendan Griffin T.D., officially unveiled the new Historic Towns signs in Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow – the first of four towns to have the signage installed.
 He is pictured with Pat Deering T.D. Jenny De Saulles, Head of Ireland's Ancient East with Fáilte Ireland and Martin Nevin, Local Historian.  
Working with local authorities and historians, Fáilte Ireland has uncovered interesting and lesser known stories from each area’s history. This content will be displayed through wayfinding, interpretation, photography, maps and other signage across each town.
