Irish investor saves UK chain

UK cafe operator Patisserie Holdings sold its two main businesses for a combined consideration of £13m (€14.8m) yesterday, administrators said.
In a statement Patisserie said its Patisserie Valerie business has been bought by Causeway Capital Partners, an Irish private equity firm.
Meanwhile, its sandwich chain Philpotts was sold to wholesale and distribution group A.F. Blackmore.
The two were sold for £10m in cash, and a further £3m in future payments.

Permission for Longford plaza

Supermac's  has obtained permission t to build a Plazain Longford.
Longford County Council has granted planning permission for the multimillion-euro development on the Ballinalee road, off the N4.
 There were a number of objections to the construction of the drive-thru restaurant and food court, similar to the Obama Plaza based at Moneygall.
Most concerns involved the potential negative impact of traffic congestion and safety on the N4 bypass.

Trump cuts Doonbeg losses

Operating losses at the Trump Doonbeg resort reduced to around €100,000 in 2018 as revenues further increased in the "best year" to date for the resort.
The Trump Organisation has invested €40m, including the purchase price, since acquiring the property five years ago this week.
 Revenues at the resort in 2018 increased by 7% to €11.4m and this represents an increase of 48% on the revenues of €7.7m that were recorded in 2014 during the first year of the Trump ownership of the resort.
 The resort enjoyed the increase in revenues in 2018 as a result of accommodation income increasing by 3%, green fee income increasing by 13% and Food & Beverage increasing by 8%.

  Javier originates from Madrid, Spain where he studied for a Masters Degree in Media Communications in the Rey Juan Carlos University.
