Its architecture blends Art Deco and neo-classical stylings, however the hotel’s stunning Portland stone facade has suffered a lifetime of grime and pollution – a result of its prime position on one of the city’s busiest thoroughfares. P Mac, a Heritage Contractor, has been chosen in partnership with Thomann-Hanry to turn the back clock on this iconic Dublin landmark.

Ballymaloe ends Litfest

The organisers of the Litfest at Ballymaloe are axing the annual food festival because of the challenge of funding the event and finding speakers in a world “awash with food festivals”.
 Festival director Rory O’Connell said at the end of last year’s Litfest that the annual event was going to take a break for a year and return in 2019. But in recent weeks he said they decided “a line has been drawn under Litfest”.

Award for 'Leader Margot'

  Margot Slattery, country president of Sodexo Ireland, was presented with the 2018 FM 'Leader of the Year' at the fifth annual Facilities Management Awards.
 She received the Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the growth of the facilities management sector in Ireland.  Sodexo Ireland previously won Total FM Service Provider of the Year at the 2016 Awards.
 margofm0218Commenting on her win, Margot Slattery said, “I am absolutely thrilled and humbled to have been awarded this honour. The facilities world is an exciting one and no two days are the same.  We are lucky to work in such a fast-moving industry that is finally being recognised for its value and its contribution to workforce productivity and happiness.”
