Loughrans celebrate 'Fathers Day'

Father and son loughraqn0617 John and Gerard Loughran are both directors in The Sandymount Hotel. Being the oldest and largest family run hotel in Dublin, The Sandymount Hotel’s success may be down to their loyal, loving and inspiring family relationships.
Founded in 1955 by John’s parents, The Sandymount Hotel has always been a family affair as John took ownership of the Hotel alongside his brother in 1988. For some time John also ran his own accountancy practice but since 1999 has been the sole owner of the Hotel, after purchasing his brother’s shareholding in the hotel.  Both John and his eldest son Gerard began their careers in the hotel doing every job necessary – from making beds, washing dishes and serving tables and today they are both directors. Gerard’s role manages operations and the day to day running of the hotel. He has recently been instrumental in the hotels modernisation – with a €6 million refurbishment.
