‘Hat Maker’ A Hit

The coastal town of Dungarvan has welcomed a new addition to its hospitality scene with the opening of the Hat Maker Hotel at 12 Parnell Street. The boutique townhouse hotel is within a restored listed heritage building.

The creative force behind the transformation is Anne Kirby, a designer whose career began in the fast-paced world of investment banking before pivoting to interiors, where she has made her mark through residential projects and show houses.

Anne’s approach to the project was rooted in a respect for the building’s heritage while introducing modern touches that enhance guest comfort and visual appeal. Every detail, from the selection of artwork to the balance of antique and contemporary furniture, was carefully considered to ensure a cohesive and memorable aesthetic.

To bring her vision to life, Anne turned to Oriana B, an Irish-based interiors brand known for its well-crafted, design-led pieces that combine unique character with practical elegance. Oriana B supplied key elements for the project, including exclusive marble-topped consoles, lacquer mirrors and side tables from their Edition 01 collection.

Oriana B’s Katharine Deas expressed pride in supporting such a distinctive Irish hotel project:

"We were thrilled to work with Anne Kirby Design and see our designs take centre stage in the Hat Maker Hotel. It’s exactly the kind of environment we love to see our products in—spaces where quality, character and Irish design are celebrated," she said.
