Gateway Hotel Sold

Mayo hoteliers Trish Egan and PJ Staide have acquired the Gateway Hotel in Swinford, Co Mayo for a sum understood to be more than €1m. The duo already own Cill Aodáin Court Hotel in nearby Kiltimagh.

The Gateway, a three-star hotel prominently located on the Main Street in Swinford, was sold by Charles and Cathal Kelly.

The hotel accommodates 22 bedrooms, the 50-seater "Flying Doc Bar", the 50-seater "The Front" dining room and a function room with a 200-seat capacity. At the rear is a car park with space for about 20 cars. The sale also included an adjoining two-storey building extending to 90 sqm, which could facilitate expansion of the hotel.

The Gateway Hotel is one of the closest hotels to Ireland West Airport in Knock, Co Mayo, which is located only 12km away.
