Gary Heads K Club Kitchen
The K Club in County Kildare has appointed Gary O’Hanlon as the resort’s new executive head chef.
The Irish chef, broadcaster and columnist has taken the position at the five star estate following five years as head chef of The Condor at the world-famous Chateau du Coudreceau in France. Prior to that, Gary was head chef of Viewmount House, Co. Longford, from its opening in August 2008 through to 2018 where he racked up a wealth of awards. He was the recipient of the Georgina Campbell Hospitality Hero Award for services to Irish food.
Originally from Ramelton, near Letterkenny, Gary has been a frequent fixture on Irish TV screens since 2008 with appearances on MasterChef Ireland, Four Live, The Today Show, Late Lunch Live, The Six O Clock Show, and is the resident chef on The Restaurant. He also co-hosts the podcast Dishing It Out alongside fellow chef Gareth Mullins.
The K Club’s General Manager Paul Heery says: "We welcome Gary’s knowledge in seeking out the very best in locally produced seasonal ingredients, helping to continue to drive the food offering at The K Club."
Gary adds:
"If you’d told my younger self I would one day be Executive Head Chef at The K Club, I wouldn’t have believed you. The K Club is a shining example of hospitality in Ireland, and one that I feel very proud to have been asked to become a part of. Whilst it’s an historic venue, the team is full of fresh thinking and doesn’t shy away from new ideas, and I’m very excited to see where this journey takes us."
