Failte Ireland Welcomes Framework

Fáilte Ireland has welcomed the publication of the new Tourism Policy Framework for the period to 2030 by the Minister for Tourism, Catherine Martin.

This comprehensive policy provides a robust blueprint that underpins the work of Fáilte Ireland and will guide efforts to further develop Ireland as a premier tourist destination.

The framework aligns with Fáilte Ireland’s ambition to foster and develop a sustainable visitor economy that channels tourism revenue into communities across the country, enabling them to flourish and thrive, making them better places to live and visit.

It also supports Fáilte Ireland’s commitment to enhancing the environmental sustainability of tourism businesses, aiming to meet government targets for carbon emissions and energy efficiency by 2030.

Fáilte Ireland particularly welcomes the policy’s emphasis on collaboration, which echoes the ongoing close working relationship with Tourism Ireland. Together, both organisations will continue to promote Ireland as a vibrant and sustainable tourist destination at home and abroad.

Paul Kelly, CEO of Fáilte Ireland, said:

“This new policy framework is a significant step forward for the tourism sector in Ireland. It not only supports Fáilte Ireland's work but also provides a clear path for sustainable growth and development. By focusing on environmental sustainability, we are ensuring that our tourism industry can thrive while protecting our natural resources for future generations. This is crucial for attracting visitors who are increasingly seeking sustainable destinations.”
