Exploring Roots at Culloden
The Culloden Estate & Spa has introduced an experience that allows guests to explore their Irish roots with the guidance of a professional resident genealogist.
The rise of heritage tourism, based on reconnecting people with their places of origin, has seen millions worldwide seeking to uncover their family history. Through this initiative, visitors to the Culloden can go beyond traditional ancestry research.
The experience is led by Brian Watson, an expert with genealogy research company Family Ulster since 1999, who will help guests navigate official records to piece together their family’s past.
“With an estimated 50 to 80 million people worldwide having Irish ancestry, we’re delighted to offer a service that helps guests connect with their past in such a meaningful way,” said Cormac Fadden, general manager of Culloden Estate & Spa.
The Ancestral Luxury Escape Package includes a personal consultation for guests over afternoon tea, with the opportunity to reflect on their history.
