EV Chargers Could Boost Tourism

The Government is planning to introduce high-powered electric vehicle chargers every 60km across the nation's motorway network in a move which could prove to be attractive to visiting EV motorists.

Over the next three years, the Government will spend €100m on public charging infrastructure, with the first national EV charging infrastructure strategy now published. The Government is planning to introduce high-powered electric vehicle chargers every 60km across the nation's motorway network.

The strategy includes a new grant scheme for EV chargers at sports clubs around Ireland. Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan announced the new Shared Island Sports Club Scheme as the "first practical roll-out" of the strategy, which will open on January 30.
