Developing Horse Tourism
Fáilte Ireland launched its new Horse Country Experience Development Programme at Darley, Kildangan Stud, Monasterevin, Co. Kildare.
The event brought together 15 businesses from Kildare and Tipperary to explore opportunities for creating saleable equine experiences that showcase the region’s rich thoroughbred heritage.
Part of the wider Thoroughbred Country Destination and Experience Development Plan (DEDP), this programme supports Fáilte Ireland’s ambition to strengthen Ireland’s tourism offering by fostering collaboration among businesses, developing compelling visitor experiences, and encouraging visitors to stay longer in Kildare, Tipperary and the wider Ireland’s Ancient East region.
By connecting visitors with the story of Horse Country, this initiative will deliver economic benefits to local communities and ensure the equine tradition remains a distinctive feature of the tourism offering in Ireland’s Ancient East.
