Cummins Seeks Seanad Seat
The chief executive of the Restaurants Association of Ireland, Adrian Cummins, is to contest the upcoming Seanad elections.
Adrian has declared his candidacy for the Seanad industrial and commercial panel. Other nominees contesting the upcoming election for seats on the panel include Fine Gael nominee Tony Mulcahy and the Irish League of Credit Unions nominee Vanessa Foran.
Adrian has received nominations from representative bodies including the Restaurants Association of Ireland, the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation and the Irish Hospitality Institute. He has been the chief executive of the Restaurants Association of Ireland for 15 years. He says:
“Having recently organised a rally outside Leinster House attended by over 1,800 people who own and work in small, medium and micro businesses, I know the many serious challenges facing our SME community in their daily battle to keep their businesses open and employees in jobs.”
The deadline for nominations will close at the end of this month, with members of the incoming Dáil, outgoing Seanad and local councillors making up the electorate for selecting those who sit on the vocational panels of the Seanad.
