Conrad Dublin’s Clothes Swap
Conrad Dublin participated in Hilton's “Travel with Purpose Week”, a “global initiative, aimed at creating a positive impact on communities and the environment”.
One of the standout events of the week was a clothes swap and donation drive organised by Conrad Dublin. This event not only encouraged sustainable fashion choices but also provided an opportunity for charitable contributions. The enthusiastic participation of the community truly exemplified the spirit of giving and the hotel's commitment to making a difference.
In collaboration with Flossy and the Beach Cleaner team, Conrad Dublin also embarked on a mission to clean a local beach in Dublin. This collective effort resulted in the removal of an impressive 20 kilograms of waste in less than an hour, showcasing the remarkable impact that can be achieved through teamwork and dedication to a cleaner environment.
Committed to minimising its environmental footprint, Conrad Dublin implemented measures to reduce paper waste by an impressive 23%. By embracing streamlined processes and digital solutions, the hotel made significant strides towards a more sustainable and eco-conscious operation.
Conrad Dublin has also recently forged a new partnership with Clean The World, a global organisation dedicated to working with hotels around the world to collect used soap and amenity bottles. These collected items are then carefully recycled and reprocessed. The sanitised soap and hygiene kits produced as a result of this initiative are distributed to vulnerable populations, including families experiencing homelessness, disaster victims and children in poverty-stricken areas. This partnership exemplifies Conrad Dublin's commitment to making a meaningful impact on a global scale.
Under the guidance of the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework, the team at Conrad Dublin has been tirelessly working to reduce waste, conserve energy and water, and promote responsible sourcing practices. Their dedication to sustainability extends to collaborating with local organisations such as Thorntons Recycling and OpenHive, which has enabled them to gain valuable insights and knowledge. These collaborations have not only supported environmental awareness efforts but also allowed Conrad Dublin to integrate the positive impact of their learnings into their hotel policies, further reinforcing their commitment to a sustainable future.
Andrew Moore, General Manager of Conrad Dublin, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the enthusiastic participation and dedication of the team and the local community:
“Travel with Purpose Week provided an incredible opportunity for us to come together and make a tangible impact on our community and the environment. The success of these initiatives is a testament to the power of collective action.”
