Conference Links Tourism and Agriculture

Good Food Ireland will host a cross-sector conference that will focus on the role of Ireland’s agri-food and tourism sectors in ensuring long-term economic and social stability across the island of Ireland. It will take place on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025, at Anantara The Marker Hotel, Dublin.

Speaking at her farm in Co Wexford, Margaret Jeffares, founder & CEO, Good Food Ireland (pictured), said:

“In an increasingly insecure and fragmenting world, the combined food and tourism industries represent the single biggest source of independent, long-term, socio-economic health for the island. We are already world-class in both sectors, but now is the time to elevate this to a new level.”

Moderated by Noel Toolan, an international consultant and change management agent at Katalest, the conference will feature Francie Gorman, President of the Irish Farmers’ Association; Prof. John Gilliland OBE, Regenerative Farmer and Sustainability Leader at Brook Hall Estate; Paul Ward, Manager of Business Intelligence at Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM); Alice Mansergh, CEO of Tourism Ireland; John Lynch, CEO of the Irish South & East Fish Producer Organisation; and Suzanne Campbell, RTE Food & Farming Presenter. The event will also feature Darina Allen, founder of Ballymaloe Cookery School; Paul Cunningham, chef and owner of the zero-waste eatery Scoper’s of Dundrum; and Morgan Ging, farmer and master distiller at Ballykeefe Distillery.

This event is sponsored by AIB, Bord Iascaigh Mhara, Host Partner Anantara The Marker Hotel Dublin, and is supported by Tourism Ireland, FBD Insurance, Wine Consultants Ireland, and Bord Bia.
