Cleaning ‘Opt Out’ Initiative

Cliste Hospitality is launching a new room cleaning initiative entitled “Clean The Planet, Not My Room” across its portfolio of managed hotels, including The iNUA Collection, in a bid to provide more sustainable travel options to guests.

This double-edged initiative, which forms part of Cliste Hospitality’s wider sustainability programme, will reduce energy and water consumption and ultimately reduce the carbon footprint of hotel stays, whilst also creating a positive community impact.

Guests who stay more than one night in Cliste Hospitality’s hotels can choose to partake in the Clean The Planet initiative. By opting out of the daily room cleaning and fresh towels service, guests will receive a €5 dining voucher for use in the hotels’ restaurants and cafes, and Cliste Hospitality will also make a €1 donation to their charity partner, Down Syndrome Ireland, on guests’ behalf.

Alternatively, guests can choose to receive fresh towels but opt out of their room clean. In exchange, guests forego the dining voucher, but Cliste Hospitality will still make a €1 donation to Down Syndrome Ireland on their behalf.

According to the Sustainable Travel Report 2022, 71% of consumers desire to travel more sustainably over the coming 12 months, which represents a 10% year-on-year increase since 2021. Cliste Hospitality believes it important to take an active role in preserving our island’s natural resources and creating more positive community impacts across Ireland.
