‘Best Employees’ from Midlands and Cork

The Irish Hotels Federation continues to roll out finalists in its “Employee of the Year” programme with the announcement of winners in Cork and the Midlands. The nation-wide competition has given hoteliers an opportunity to recognise outstanding employees in their areas and to generate local publicity.

Dimuthu Kankanamge, chef de partie at Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone has been announced as the Midlands Branch “Employee of the Year”. The announcement was made at an awards lunch at Kilkea Castle, Kildare, where guests gathered to celebrate and recognise 15 nominees from hotels and guesthouses across the region.

Dimuthu came to Ireland just over a year ago from Sri Lanka and started working as chef de partie at the Radison Blu Hotel, Athlone as part of the Group International Chef Programme.

Other presentations on the day included a “Highly Commended Award” to Kate Doyle, Food and Beverage Server and Receptionist at the Clanard Court Hotel, Kildare.
