Bergamo to Knock

Tourism Ireland partnered with Ireland West Airport Knock this week to promote direct flights and ease of access from Milan Bergamo to Knock.

Fourteen Irish tourism companies, including hotels, distilleries, outdoor activities and heritage sites, connected with 60 leading Italian tour operators, travel agents and journalists at a B2B workshop and networking event. Guests also enjoyed Irish produce, prepared by Good Food Ireland.

Tourism Ireland aims to sustainably support the economies of communities right across the island, growing revenue to our regions outside of the peak summer season by an average of +6.5% per year to 2030. A key part of that strategy involves working with regional airports and airlines to promote flights which deliver visitors right to our regions.

Marcella Ercolini, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Italy, said:

“Our aim is to inspire potential holidaymakers to choose Ireland and sustainably support local economies and communities by driving bookings on flights to regional airports like Ireland West Airport Knock.”

A similar event will take place in Cologne, Germany, next month to highlight Ryanair flights from Cologne to Knock.
