‘Bare Feet’ Visits Ireland

A new season of an Emmy award-winning travel series called Bare Feet with Mickela Mallozzi  is now airing to millions of viewers on PBS in the United States and parts of Canada. It will also be available to view on the PBS app and website.

Mickela Mallozzi is the producer and host of the series, which involves her travelling around the world, finding out more about the cultural and dance traditions of the various destinations she visits. Now in its seventh season, each episode reaches over two million viewers.

The first episode of the new series featured locations along the Wild Atlantic Way, from The Glens Arts Centre in County Leitrim - where members of the music group Kíla teach Mickela how to play the uilleann pipes - to an oyster experience in Sligo and a fiddle session in Donegal. Later in the series, viewers will follow Mickela to Northern Ireland, where she tours the city walls in Derry, learns about bodhrán making with Seamus O’Kane in Dungiven and visits the Giant's Causeway and Dunluce Castle. McConnell’s Distillery and Visitor Experience in Crumlin Road Gaol and the Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast also feature in the series.

Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, said:

Bare Feet with Mickela Mallozzi  is extremely popular with audiences in the United States and in Canada, so Tourism Ireland was delighted to support this latest series, which is sure to inspire many potential US and Canadian holidaymakers to book a trip to Ireland in 2025 and beyond.”
