Another Winning Night from the IHI
Valerie O’Neill was named “General Manager of the Year” at the Irish Hospitality Institute Hospitality Management Awards held in the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, Dublin, last night.
The award for “Food and Beverage Manager of the Year”, sponsored by The Firm, went to Pierce Lowney of Trigon Hotels, who is pictured receiving his trophy from Micheline Corr, Director of The Firm, and IHI President Daragh O’Neill.
Newstalk presenter Jonathan Healy introduced the winners to a gathering of 700 industry professionals, who gave a warm welcome to three new Fellows of the Institute – Dan Murphy, Managing Director of Galway Bay Hotel; Des McCann, Chief Operating Officer of Dalata Hotel Group; and Niamh Jordan, HR Director at Conrad Dublin.
Other award winners were:

- Catering General Manager of the Year – Michael Fox, The Convention Centre Dublin (Levy Ireland)
- Conference & Events Manager of the Year – Ali Mooney, Fota Ireland Resort, Co Cork
- Environmental Manager of Year – James Gleeson, Press Up Hospitality
- Finance Manager of the Year – Danielle Jennings, Maldron Hotel Sandy Road, Galway
- Revenue Manager of the Year – Emma Cronin, Maldron Hotel Newlands Cross, Dublin
- Sales & Marketing Manager of the Year – Nicky Blake Knox, Conrad Dublin
- HR & Training Manager of the Year – Catriona Sheehan, The Kingsley, Cork
- Executive Head Chef of the Year – Aaron Duffy, Castle Leslie, Co Monaghan
