Aloft Event Space
Aloft Dublin City has announced a multi-million transformation that includes a high-tech, design-led Liberties Suite meetings and events space.
With rooftop views of the city and a commitment to sustainable hospitality, Aloft Dublin City is creating a niche on the Dublin hotel market.
“With a multi-million investment, Aloft Dublin City has evolved into a grown-up hotel with a bold, luxurious lifestyle feel,” said Rod Vastenburg, the director of operations.
“Our reimagined lobby now serves as a vibrant hub, seamlessly connecting guests to the stylish Tenters Gastropub, the state-of-the-art Liberties Suite, and the heart of the hotel itself. Featuring two 130-inch LED walls and future-ready AV - including conferencing support - the Liberties Suite sets a new benchmark for immersive, tech-forward events in Ireland.”
Behind the scenes, Aloft Dublin has been working hard to reduce its carbon footprint, and its efforts are paying off. In partnership with CoolPlanet, Cardi Energy and FläktGroup, the hotel has already achieved a 17% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions year-on-year, with a projected 60% drop by November 2025, putting it well ahead of parent company Marriott International’s global sustainability target.
The hotel’s sustainability strategy includes:
- Switching to 100% green electricity
- Installing smart monitoring and control systems to reduce heating and energy use
- Introducing gas reduction and heat recovery initiatives in bedrooms and common areas
- Tracking every drop of water and watt of gas through real-time dashboards
- Achieving zero waste to landfill, a rare feat in the Irish hotel industry
Aloft Dublin is also the first Marriott property in Ireland to be awarded the internationally recognised Green Key certification, and they’ve made sustainability feel personal and local. Staff collect recycling return funds and donate them to nearby charities like Little Flower Penny Dinners, with over €3,500 raised to date. A “borrow an umbrella” scheme sees guests contribute to a tree-planting fund that has already supported the planting of over 1,000 trees.
