Alan Joins Aghadoe Kitchen

Alan Keaney has been appointed as executive sous chef at Aghadoe Heights Hotel and Spa in Killarney.

Originally from Leitrim, Alan has worked for over 25 years in the industry. He trained in three-star Michelin restaurants as well as five five-star hotels.  Most recently, he spent three years as sous chef in Cork’s one-star Michelin Restaurant Chestnut.

His career originally began in a local pub in Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim, starting off washing dishes and working behind the bar at the age of 14. He trained in National Tourism College Killybegs before working in some of Ireland and Scotland’s top kitchens. During his three years as chef de partie at Michael Deane’s Restaurant in Belfast, the team annually achieved a Michelin star. During his time as chef de partie at Number One Restaurant in the five-star Balmoral Hotel, the restaurant retained its Michelin star status.
