Accommodation Managers Celebrate in Clare

Accommodation managers from all over Ireland gathered in the Armada Hotel, Spanish Point, Co. Clare, over the weekend for the annual Gala Dinner of the Irish Accommodation Services Institute (IASI) and Accommodation Managers Awards.

Marian Murnane, president of IASI, welcomed close to 300 colleagues and guests to the Gala Dinner, during which Adare Manor took the Supreme Award for a five star hotel, Harveys’s Point Hotel, Donegal, won the Four Star Hotel Supreme Award, with the Supreme Award for a three star hotel going to Summerhill House Hotel, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow.

A new competition introduced this year recognised excellence in the role of Accommodation Assistant. Contestants were interviewed by adjudicators Micheline Corr of The Firm and management consultant Mary Hall.

Winners of the inaugural competition were Shelbie Pembroke from Dromoland Castle, Katarzyna Brandys from the Grand Hotel Malahide and Sojib Erbakan Joni from The South Court Hotel, Limerick.
