Mark leads 'Edge Days'

 Eight Chefs in training from across the country were selected by Fáilte Ireland to attend Food on the Edge - a two day symposium for chefs & food enthusiasts- which takes 


place this week  in Galway City. These students, and their lecturers, who hail from Ireland’s Institutes of Technologies, have been meeting with some of the world’s leading culinary figures and listening to their views on ‘The Future of Food’ over the last two days and enjoyed an intimate workshop with Mark Moriarty,San Pelligrino’s World’s Best Young Chef 2015, last night in VENUE.

Over 100 Irish Tourism businesses gathered at the Salthill Hotel, Galway, to meet and negotiate with key international buyers specialising in the areas of youth and advent

The event seeks to grow overseas visitor numbers by targeting the international youth and adventure market which has great potential to increase tourist numbers into Ireland.  Sixty  top overseas buyers and adventure travel agents were in attendance and more than 2100 face to face appointments have been arranged for Irish businesses to make their pitches during the event.

Holy Island Plan

Clare County Council has announced the appointment of a team of specialists to prepare a Visitor Management and Sustainable Tourism Development Plan for Holy Island on Lough Derg.
 Dublin-based Solearth Architecture is being engaged to prepare proposals in relation to improving access to the island and the provision of tourism facilities on or near the island, as well as proposals on the marketing and promoting of the Island as a visitor destination, while confirming its historical significance and protecting its built and natural heritage.

Waterford Flights Promo

Tourism Ireland has teamed up with VLM Airlines once again this autumn, to promote its flights to Waterford from Birmingham. A joint campaign – supported by Waterford Airport, as well as Waterford City Council, Kilkenny County Council and Wexford County Council – is under way and will run until the end of November.
 The flights, which began this spring, are really good news – providing a welcome boost for tourism from the all-important British market to Waterford and the South East.

Twenty-two top coach and group tour operators from Germany are visiting Ireland this week, as guests of Tourism Ireland.
