'Thrones' Promo for India

Tourism Ireland has launched a new online campaign in India to promote Northern Ireland and the various locations where the award-winning TV series Game of Thrones is filmed. The four-week social media campaign is targeting Indian fans of the show through Facebook and Twitter. It aims to leverage the incredible success and the huge popularity of Game of Thrones and its strong connections with Northern Ireland.

The campaign is using images for fans to share – via social media – to celebrate the show and Northern Ireland. It includes a competition, in partnership with HBO, inviting Game of Thrones fans to answer three questions about the show and the filming locations in Northern Ireland. The prize is a four-day, Game of Thrones-inspired holiday to Northern Ireland, as well as some exclusive Game of Thrones merchandise. Our aim, through this campaign, is to highlight Northern Ireland and its beautiful landscape. We are reaching out to the show’s fanbase in India and showcasing the stunning filming locations around Northern Ireland. We want to spike their curiosity and encourage them to come and explorethe landscapes and locations featured in the series for themselves.”
