Kerry Hoteliers have welcomed the positive news of the Glenbeigh to Cahersiveen Greenway.
Bernadette Randles, Chairperson of the Kerry Hotel Federation said, “Kerry is a world class destination & has had a positive response from the domestic tourist in 2020 during the summer months. This year has seen outdoor activities soar and the new Greenway will reinforce this offering in Kerry. We are an ideal destination for adventure tourism & this will further copper fasten the wholesome offering we have as a county.”
This development will be a huge boost for tourism in Kerry, based on the success of the existing Mayo and Waterford Greenways who have seen dramatic growth in leisure tourism with the offering of a greenway. It will deliver a safe and spectacularly scenic route on the Ring of Kerry for both walkers and cyclists alike providing a wonderful amenity.
The Kerry project will provide new business opportunities for tourism & hospitality along the path & affords enterprising people multiple opportunities for pop up businesses. “It will have considerable capital contribution during construction phase estimated at €20 million & is a lifeline to the south of Kerry for the future & we have to be thankful to all the promoters and stakeholders in this most important project for Kerry.” said Bernadette
