Fáilte Ireland have organised two workshops in the Galmont Hotel for Tuesday, 19th February next to help train those interested in becoming a ‘local expert’. As the Local Experts Programme progresses it will aim to develop a tourism business network and social media initiatives.

Explaining the programme, Niamh Mannion, Senior Travel Advisor with Fáilte Ireland said that the workshops are suitable for a diverse range of tourism businesses and those that want to provide visitors with the best experience of Galway, its attractions and people:

“Galway is one of the most popular destinations in Ireland for international visitors and its attractions are brought to life every day by locals interacting with tourists. Visitors not only seek out local people and their advice, they trust it. More and more holidaymakers tell us that they rely on and trust the advice and information received from the local people they meet during their stay. This programme will build on that sentiment by inspiring all front-line employees and volunteers to turn every visitor interaction into a truly informative and positive experience.”
