Popular Chinese talk show Morning Call, which is among the world’s top online talk shows on www.Youku.com will broadcast five episodes on Ireland over the next few months

with the first episode starting this week. Presented by Gao Xiaosong, an iconic figure in Chinese folk music,(pictured during filming at Trinity College) the programme has swept all the talk show awards in China and has accumulated over 1.85 billion views. Together with its radio channels the accumulated views and listeners total up to 5 billion.

Mr Gao and his film crew were in Ireland last month on a bespoke tour of the country, arranged and hosted by Fáilte Ireland in collaboration with Tourism Ireland. The visit was also assisted by the Irish Embassy in Beijing with Mr Gao meeting President Higgins while in Dublin.

Pat to drive golf

Pat Barrett has been appointed Golf Business Development Manager at Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort, near Blessington, Co Wicklow, part of PREM Group. Pat joined the group in 2014 as Golf and Events Manager for one of its managed properties. He was actively involved in the property’s hosting of a number of successful PGA Pro Am tournaments as well as in securing a EuroPro Tour event.

A member of the Irish Golf and Club Managers association, Pat brings extensive experience in sales management to his new role. He is a graduate in Industrial Engineering from LIT and also holds Diplomas in Training and Development as well as Purchasing & Materials Management.

Bewleys café to reopen

ave seating for up to 500 people. The first floor theatre has been remodelled and the renowned Harry Clarke windows have been retained. with new artworks added. Owner and distringu ished artist Paddy Campbell has played a leading role in the refurbishment.

Shelbourne interior upgrade

The interior of the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin is to be upgraded in a project which will involve the refurbishment of the Lord Mayor's Lounge, the Ballroom and meeting rooms.This follows the extensive refurbishmenjt of the facade of the hoteol and its guestrooms.The work is expected to be completed within a year.
