Widely accepted as one of the world’s greatest celebrations of country life and pursuits, around 145,000 visitors attended the three-day event, which provided an excellent platform to promote the island of Ireland, and our superb outdoor activities, to a wide audience of countryside lov
ers.
Vanessa Markey, Tourism Ireland’s head of Great Britain, said: “Events like the CLA Game Fair provide us with a wonderful platform to spread the word about the many great outdoor experiences that British holidaymakers can enjoy right around the island of Ireland.
“Great Britain is the largest market for tourism to the island of Ireland and 2015 is performing really well so far, with the latest CSO figures showing growth of +9.4% for the first half of the year, almost 140,000 extra British visitors compared with the same six-month period in 2014. Tourism Ireland is undertaking an extensive programme of promotions in Britain throughout 2015, to ensure that this growth continues.”
